Japan Koteki Band Association

Japan Koteki Band Association (JKBA), founded  in 9th  September 1958, was originally comprised  of over 400 independent leagues based on  voluntary organization of Tokyo Metropolitan  Elementary School & Junior High School Koteki  Band (Flutes, Brass and Percussions Band). It was forming  a delegation as part of school education program  to join a parade of Tokyo Olympic Game.  Moreover, it was moving into profound activities  beyond school program and evoked a great  response.

A grand foundation ceremony was held at Tokyo Metropolitan Hall at Ueno Park 23rd August 1961 with inviting representatives from whole districts throughout Japan. News report took a great deal of the cerebration parade. With its declaration, it showed a new direction along which young people are proceeding with music, and it declared dedicating Tokyo Olympic Game.
